What the sheet shows
Lines of latitude run east to west and measure degrees north or south of the equator. Lines of longitude run from pole to pole and measure degrees east or west of the prime meridian at Greenwich. Every point on the sheet sits where two grid lines cross, so students can read its position straight off the labels on the edges.
